Temporary Warehouse Space Needed
November-December
Each year, LAAC assembles, stages and distributes hundreds of bicycles for our Christmas Wish Program. The donated space we used the past few years is no longer available, so we need a new location to assemble and store these bicycles. We only need this space for a few weeks as we prepare for our Christmas party in December.

Needed mid-November to mid-December (approximately 3 weeks)
-
Must be secure
-
Minimum 2000 sq ft
-

If you have a space, or know someone who does, please contact us at 209-333-1056 or lodiadoptachild@gmail.com.
Completed: Survey of Children's Needs
This spring we received an outstanding response to a survey asking what our parents wanted most to help meet their children’s needs. We heard back from 157 parents, almost all of whom were recipients of last year’s Christmas program.
What we heard most was a need for:
-
Shoes
-
Pants
-
School supplies and backpacks
The after-school programs that were ranked most important:
-
Sports
-
Music
-
Painting
Other clothing and activities were also requested and very close behind those listed above. Overall, these mirror the programs that Lodi Adopt-A-Child already sponsors. We will use the survey results to help guide our program selection as we renew and expand them into the future.
Thank you to all who participated.
We Love Volunteers
Once again, we’ll be looking for volunteers to help with all aspects of acquiring and distributing gifts for 800+ children in need. Please let us know if you’d be willing to buy, sort, assemble, box, wrap, organize and distribute all those gifts. We’ll start in mid-October, though most of the work will be between mid-November and mid-December. You can sign up now, letting us know what tasks you’re willing and able to help with. Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) translators are particularly helpful.

We will contact those registered as our schedule develops in the fall.
We will provide more information about the 2024 Christmas program in our next newsletter, including dates and times for child registration, Angel card availability and gift collection and distribution.
2024 Claude Brown Memorial Scholarships
Congratulations to Holly Wilson from Lodi High School and Crystal Menendez from Tokay High School, winners of this year’s scholarships. Both were awarded $500 toward their college expenses this fall.
